In this online course, award-winning bartender, Hardeep Singh Reehal, will share the fundamental techniques for creating shaken, stirred, and built cocktails with delicious flavor pairings. 

According to Hardeep, “Everything has flavor, and as bartenders, we have the potential to extract that flavor and make it into a delicious cocktail.” He will show us how to work with a range of cocktail modifiers, including citrus, vinegars, syrups, cordials, and shrubs.

Hardeep will dip into his Indian heritage and show us how to work with spices to create a chai-flavored, daiquiri style cocktail, and how to create cocktails using exciting new ingredients, such as eucalyptus.

What you'll learn

Get to know the tools, techniques, and modifiers for creating delicious shaken, stirred, and built cocktails

In this course, Hardeep Singh Reehal will explain the difference between shaken, stirred, and built cocktails and will show you the essential tools to prepare them. He will demonstrate how to construct a cocktail in the sour category, and how it can be used as a template for a variety of cocktails. He will also reveal various sweet and sour modifiers and explain their use.

Hardeep will delve into color theory and its application in cocktail design, and show you how to use it for pairing contrasting flavors. He will then demonstrate how to prepare shaken, stirred, and built cocktails using the previously mentioned techniques.

Hardeep Rehal

Indian roots, British born, Hardeep Singh RehaI moved to Denmark with his parents when he was quite young. He became curious about bartending while studying engineering at Danish Technical University. He loves to apply science to alcohol, and the challenges of doing so have kept him on this path since 2003.
Hardeep has been competing in bartending competitions since 2007, earning various titles and awards among others, the Diageo World Class Danish National champion in 2014, and again in 2021 when he took 4th place in the global finals.
He currently co-owns a high volume cocktail bar & nightclub in Copenhagen called Blume.
He also has a company Cocktailsolutions.dk where he carries out R&D in and outside the bar, collaborating with companies from across different industries where he truly gets to utilize his scientific background.
Hardeep says, ‘if all this cocktail talk is starting to bore you, ask me about my professional contemporary dance career and how it led to my being introduced to nightlife, and ultimately the cocktail bar.’
